Welcome to my spot to share my experiences with the garden, with cooking, and other aspects of life. I’m not a big fan of these kinds of blurbs that ask you to express yourself, your life and your interests in such a small space. I tend towards rambling. That helps to explain my love for large perennial and rose gardens, I think. My newest hobby is my heirloom vegetable garden. I am also the "chef" of the house, and I’m trying to find ways to grow a lot of what we eat during the summer (organic and sustainable).

Our ground is very clay-like and dries to almost impenetrable rock - it takes a lot of manure, a lot of mulch and a lot of effort to garden in the hottest months of the summer! Our USDA Hardiness Zone is 5b. I have an eclectic gardening style and I’m constantly moving flowers around.
